All parents’ guardians of children in the school are members of the Parents Association with a number of parents being elected to a committee. The committee is the team of people who manage the tasks of the Parents Association on behalf of the parents.
The Parents Association committee works with the principal, staff, and board of management to build effective partnership between home and school.
The Parents Association committee meets periodically to discuss and plan fundraising initiatives for the Children of Court NS.
Some recent fundraising activities include; Summer Tea Party, kids Halloween disco and our very first Court NS School Calendar.
The Parents Association also support & sponsor ongoing events happening in the school for example; art competitions and the Christmas concert in the KMH.
Although we make decisions collectively as a group and work together as a team for fundraising events, we have some core members who hold specific responsibilities such as:
Selina Lawlor - Chairperson
Selina is responsible for chairing PA meetings, overseeing and supporting all fundraising activities, leading and guiding members in planning and delivering activities. Ensuring all members are respected, listened to and are encouraged to have their say.
Jamie Butler - Treasurer
Jamie is responsible for all financial aspects of the Parents Association account, including lodging and recording all financial transactions. Managing and maintaining books/record of income and expenditure and providing financial updates at Parents Association Meetings.
Sarah Hollmann - Secretary
Sarah is responsible for preparing, sharing and filing of the Parents Association meeting minutes and appropriately administers incoming and outgoing correspondence.
Aine Roche, Louise Crowley, Gavin O'Donovan, Sarah Crean and Nuala Doyle hold general members positions on the Parents Association committee, these roles are instrumental in the decision-making process and are key contributors at fundraising events.
All members volunteer their time so generously and equally important to the continued successful running of the Parents Association committee.
